Neither of these speak directly to the importance of design or experience, though they do in a way.

  1. To make money
    Designed to be effective and pleasurable for the customer to use.
  2. To save money
    Designed to be effective and pleasurable for the customer to use.
  3. To create competitive advantage
    Designed to solve an old problem in a new way for the customer to leverage.
  4. To stay out of jail (for legal compliance reasons)
    Designed to ensure that fatal errors are mitigated.
